After signing up for The Message Center hosted Microsoft Dynamics CRM service, there are several steps
ahead in customizing and importing your information…which will eventually turn into your customized CRM
application and service!
The first thing you need to do is customize your layout within the CRM system. We have many tutorials located
in our support site that will assist you, however it is important to understand the complete process before
moving forward. Here are the phases that we recommend for you to follow:
Modify Your DNS Records
Log into your new CRM tenant and create attributes, entities, and layout of forms.
It is important to document all newly created fields and understand the desired final location
for information you are going to import or enter into the CRM.
Create Your Users
Its time to import your data! If you have data from a previous CRM that you would like to import
into your new Microsoft Dynamics CRM tenant, there are a variety of ways to do it. You are able
to import your data by using the easy-to-use Import Wizard that build into the Dynamics CRM
web interface…or you can use the Data Migration Tool that is FREE to download from our
support site…or you can let us import the data for you (a professional services fee is applicable).
Regardless of your import method choice, here are the steps that are generally followed:
1) You provide your administrator a CSV file that includes the data to import into the CRM.
2) You provide a map of CSV columns to fields created/identified in Preparation Phase.
3) TMC imports data to desired fields and provides mapping method.
Create/Design Your Custom Site
Once your data is entered or imported into your CRM tenant, you will need to distribute the
accounts and information to the appropriate employees based on the criteria that you define.
In order to identify the logic of distribution and filtering, we recommend that you create a flow
chart of distribution methods for data imported/created.
You are then able to create WorkFlows within your CRM tenant (no programming needed) to do virtually
anything that will automate the process of filtering, distributing, and working the data in your CRM tenant.
